I'll put it into Park during a regen that has brought the DPF % down to 60% at that point. The DPF % will continue to fall while idling.
To force regen on a ram 2500, you can follow these steps: firstly, drive the vehicle at highway speeds for approximately 20 minutes to allow the engine to reach its optimal temperature; secondly, ensure that the exhaust system is hot enough by using an obd-ii scanner to check for a minimum temperature of 600°f (315°c); and thirdly, if
Press and hold button 1 under the parked regeneration icon (A) on TechControl DPF status screen for 5 seconds. NOTE: If cancellation of parked regeneration is necessary, your best option is to depress button 4 under icon (B) on the TechControl DPF status screen.
I love having the gauge in the instrument cluster that show the level of the DPF, as well as when it is actively in regen mode. I watched the first couple regen cycles and it happened to kick off when I expected, the filter was about half capacity, and I had hit the highway and held speed for about 15 minutes when it started regen. 20 or so
It's triggered by sensors. How often it actively needs to regenerate depends on use and where in the exhaust system the DPF is located. If it's bolted straight onto an integrated exhaust manifold on the engine, then it will passively regenerate more and rarely need to actively regenerate. If it's half way down the exhaust pipe it will need to
The "Regen" button on the dashboard must be pressed for two seconds while the engine is running. Various models have slightly different dashes and systems. Always make safety a priority when regenerating your Volvo. The active regen process takes approximately 20 minutes, but can take as long as 60 minutes depending on your driving habits.
The B3350 has had the lion's share of regen problems, that those of us with different models have not had so far, and if your dealer does not fix it, you might think about invoking the lemon law and return it and exchange for a different Kubota. There are some great models available, with and without the dpf filter.
SERVICE TIPS: DURAMAX EGR VALVE/DPF. Two critical elements that need to be checked out at 100,000 miles are the EGR valve and the DPF. Hasten says to run a computerized flow test on the DPF filter tol show if the filter in the exhaust stream needs cleaning or replacing. A number of companies across the country offer such filter cleaning
A passive regen is where the trucks operation in itself is enough to allow the soot to be burned out of the filter. An active regen is where extra fuel is needed to create temperatures high enough to actively burn the soot out of the filter. And then a stationary regen, also called a service regen, parked regen, etc, is not a normal form of regen.
